In order to promote transparency, accessibility, and increase public engagement, the Community Development Department implements a communications plan through a variety of mediums, including social media, print and digital publications, and press releases. On a triannual basis, the Township conducts a Communications Report which surveys the public on what communication strategies are effective and the results of this report are used to create the Town's Communication Plan. This document guides the policies, planning, development, and execution of information dissemination and cultural storytelling of Lawrence Township. In addition to communications, the Community Development Department develops resources for key stakeholders that promote greater understanding of municipal processes and services, such as Senior Connect, the New Resident Pamphlet, and the Business Manual.

The department designs a Business Manual and offers designated Community Relations Liaison who provides one-on-one guidance to new businesses in addition to coordinating Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies to celebrate their establishment within the community. Additionally, through the ongoing Shop Lawrence campaign, the department oversees a community platform that enables businesses to connect with the broader community, thus fostering a mutually beneficial relationship between the business community and the township. The Community Relations Liaison is a channel of communication between the municipality and its residents and businesses. They are responsible for conveying information to the public and trouble shooting inquiries to the correct departments. The Community Liaison's goal is to connect through communication, and strengthen the bonds of the community by forming mutually beneficial partnerships with valued stakeholders.
