  • Municipal Offices Closed Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.
  • There will be no trash pick-up on Monday, May 25th due to the Memorial Day Holiday. The make-up trash day is Saturday, May 23. Please place your trash carts out after 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
  • Memorial Day Parade - Unfortunately, the Lawrence Township Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony has been cancelled this year. It is in the best interests of the health and welfare of the participants and spectators alike. The Patriotic Committee along with the Recreation Department will be working on other ways the Lawrence Township residents can remember those who have lost their lives serving this country. We will have more information on the Recreation website and Facebook in the weeks to come.
  • Dog License Renewals -Dog license renewals were due by January 30th. As has been past practice the Township did not charge a late fee until April 1st. This year, due to COVID-19, we extended that grace period. However, as of June 15th the late fee will be initiated. Licensing your dog is a New Jersey State requirement as is having a  rabies vaccination that is valid at least thru November 1st of the licensing year. Failure to obtain the required dog license will result in the issuance of a citation with a Court fine of $78 plus the cost of obtaining the required dog license. License fees are $11 if neutered or $14 if intact.
  • Senior Connect - The new Senior Connect is available. Please click here to view. It is also available at Town Hall at the North door entrance. You may also call the Senior Center at 609-844-7049 to make arrangements to have one delivered to you.
  • Be Counted! Respond to the Census - Have you completed your 2020 Census form? It is important that everyone does their part and responds to the Census. It's safe and easy..
  • MUNICIPAL OFFICES CONTINUE TO BE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC THIS WEEK. A secured drop box has been located at the North Entrance to the Main Municipal Building that should be used to drop off or deliver any item. Please make sure it is properly addressed to the person or department to ensure proper delivery. We encourage anyone doing business with the municipality to call or email to discuss alternative ways to handle your issue. We suggest using email. We will get back to you.
  • New Jersey American Water Treatment Change - – On April 21, New Jersey American Water will resume using chloramines in water treatment at its Raritan-Millstone and Canal Road Water Treatment plants. These plants serve New Jersey American Water customers in the following counties: Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset and Union. Please click here for full details.
  • New Bulk Pick-Up Schedule - Effective Friday, May 8, bulk pick-up will resume. Bulk pick-up for Lawrence residents will ONLY be on Fridays during the pandemic. We are asking residents to place no more than three (3) bulky items out for Fridays pick-up. Click here to see flyer.   • TRENTON WATER WORKS ONLINE- Trenton Water Works has introduced and oline system for customers to manage their accounts. More details are attached.
  • “Register Ready” New Jersey’s statewide Disability and Access and Functional Need (DAFN) registry. This free, secure, voluntary database allows New Jersey residents with disabilities or access and functional needs, and their families, friends, caregivers and associates, an opportunity to provide  information to emergency response agencies so responders can better plan to serve them in a disaster or other emergency.   • Public Works Department Announcement - The Department of Public Works main office will be closed to the public until further notice.  Residents may still bring electronics and tires every Wednesday between 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Please feel free to contact the Public Works Department at (609) 587-1894 for assistance.  Residents may email inquiries to or Landscaper Registrations and mulch orders, please email for assistance.  Residents and Landscapers may also call our office for assistance. 
  • IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING TRASH COLLECTION - The Township has been advised that the trash company will be picking up trash earlier than normal because of staffing during the coronavirus pandemic. We ask that you please put your trash out the night before, after 5:00 pm, in order to ensure you don't miss the pick-up. Thank you for your cooperation.
  • MUNICIPAL OFFICES UPDATE- Police, Fire, EMT and other essential employees will be required to continue with their responsibilities. Public restrooms at parks will be locked. The Senior Center is closed.The Nutrition Program has been suspended. Visit the Township COVID-19 webpage for more information on all things relating to our response to this public health crisis.   • Volunteer Board Appointments - The Municipal Clerk is accepting applications for several committees seeking to fill vacancies. These committees include Construction Board of Appeals, Environmental Green Resources, Growth and Redevelopment, Historic Preservation, Public Safety, Shade Tree and Trails, Open Space & Stewardship.   • 2020 Mulch Delivery Program - The Lawrence Township Mulch Delivery Program will begin on April 20 and run through May 15. Click here to see the flyer.

  • Trenton Water Works - For those residents who could not attend the recent presentation by Trenton Water Works, they have provided us with a copy of the Power Point presentation.
  • Senior Connect - Lawrence Township has put together a new booklet titled Senior Connect. This will be a bi-weekly publication which will include various articles and information taken from our website, Facebook and Twitter.   • TWW Announcement: TWW will begin a phased rollout of its corrosion-control project on Tuesday, December 3. The project will introduce zinc orthophosphate into a portion of our 683-mile, water-distribution system to prevent lead from leaching into the drinking water from the older service lines and household plumbing fixtures in TWW's service area. We started laying the groundwork for corrosion control in February 2018. Corroded water-service lines are often a source of lead contamination in drinking water.   • TWW - Connects Reverse 911 System: TWW - Connects is a Reverse 911 or "Robocall" system that Trenton Water Works will be using to nofiy residents about water related issues. See flyer for more details and how to register.

  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE NEW YARD WASTE COLLECTION RULES: Brush will be picked up according to the zone schedule. Please refer to the Zone Map. Brush should be placed at curbside no earlier than the weekend prior to scheduled week of pickup. Click here for details.
  • Ridesharing Safety Tips: With recurring instances of tragedies involving ridesharing, the Lawrence Township Police Department has compiled a list of recommended safety measures when utilizing these services.
  • Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program - Mercer County reminds residents that assistance is available for energy bills for those who qualify. Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) can provide financial assistance towards heating bills, medically necessary cooling and weatherization for low income families. Both homeowners and renters are eligible and should apply. LIHEAP will take applications until August 31, 2020. For more information and the application, go to the Mercer County website.
  • Important Information About Lead in Your Drinking Water. For residents who are serviced by Trenton Water Works, please see the attached notice for tips in reducing lead in your drinking water.
  • Senior Tax Freeze Program: The Senior Freeze Program reimburses eligible senior citizens and disabled persons for property tax or mobile home park site fee increases on their principal residence. To qualify, you must meet all the eligibility requirements for each year from the base year through the application year (the current application year is 2018).More details are attached.
  • Lawrence Township Home Improvement Program: Lawrence Township is accepting applications for participation in its municipally sponsored home improvement program for low and moderate-income families. Your name can be added to the waiting list by calling Lawrence Township’s consultant, Affordable Housing Administrators at: (732) 892-4292. See the attached for more details.
  • Trenton Water Works Letter Attached is a public notice (English and Spanish) that is being mailed today to TWW’s 63,000 customers regarding the water utility’s failure to rectify the Disinfection Byproducts (DBPs) issue within a year.
  • New Landscaper Registration Policy: A newly passed Ordinance, 2307-18 requires all landscaping contractors who perform work in Lawrence Township to complete a registration form. Please click here for additional details and form.

  • Social Security Scam Alert! The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is getting reports about people pretending to be from the Social Security Administration (SSA) who are trying to get your Social Security number and even your money. In one version of the scam, the caller says your Social Security number has been linked to a crime (often, he says it happened in Texas) involving drugs or sending money out of the country illegally.   • Do Not Feed Black Bears: The NJ Department of Environmental Protection has announced the launch of a campaign in its efforts to help residents learn more about living with black bears and the risks of feeding them. Please click here for the Press Release.
  • DEP Offers Safety Tips as Bears Leave Their Dens in Search of Food: It is important for residents who live in "bear country" to be aware of steps they can take to reduce chances of bears coming onto their property.   • Emerald Ash Borer Killing Ash Trees - Emerald Ash Borer has been responsible for the destruction of tens of millions of Ash trees since 2002 when it was first found in North America. It has recently been confirmed that it is now in Mercer County. It is expected that nearly 100% of untreated Ash trees in our municipality will be killed by the insect.     • Carbon Monoxide - Carbon Monoxide is a poisonous gas and is dangerous and can have deadly effects. Please click here to read NJ Poison Information News Release.
    • Project Medicine Drop-off - In partnership with local law enforcement agencies, the Division of Consumer Affairs has made it as easy as possible for you to safely and securely dispose of your unused medications. For more details see the attached flyer. To date we have collected over one ton of medication. See recent press release and detailed totals.
    • Child Passenger Safety - If you would like to request an appointment for an inspection of your child passenger safety seat please, complete this application and submit it to the Lawrence Township Fire Marshal's Office either by fax at 609-844-0282 or by email at Once the application is received, you will be contacted by a Certified Passenger Safety Seat Technician to schedule an appointment. This inspection is by appointment only.
  • Volunteer for Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
  • CERT educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.   • Are You Register Ready?  The New Jersey Office of Emergency Management and the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness have created “Register Ready” a registry program which assists people with special needs in the event of an emergency. 


    Individuals with special needs or their caregivers can register electronically at  You can also register by calling New Jersey’s toll- free 2-1-1 telephone service. This service will register individuals, offer free translation and provide TYY services for the hearing impaired.
